Charity Statement

Introduction

Here at Amanda-Louise Funeral Director Services we do more than just funerals! We care about the living, the departed and our environment. Our community sits at the heart of what we do. We champion to be a force of good creating social and environmental impacts, so we are committed to supporting positive pathways to feel less isolated, fight hunger and climate change.

Our 3 Goals

1.Let’s Beat Loneliness

As well as the emptiness someone can feel when a person they love dies, the act of grieving can be isolating as others can feel uncomfortable, not knowing what to say and even avoiding a bereaved person when they most need support.

There is a danger of loneliness becoming one of the longer-lasting effects of bereavement, with all the health risks and loss of quality of life this involves, so action is needed.

Through our social meet ups, facilitated by us, in our funeral home, we are committed to combating loneliness and social isolation offering a comfortable space with refreshments to share experiences, inspire and encourage each other to find ways to adjust to life without their loved one.

2.Let’s Beat Hunger

Wouldn’t it be nice if no one went hungry?

We at Amanda-Louise think so, and are committed to support the West Somerset Food Cupboard in collecting donations (and/or raising money for them), so that they can circulate such items within our local community.

3.Let’s Never Under estimate the Value of Trees

We know funerals and our own business will have an impact on our environment, so we wanted to reverse some of those climate negative impacts; being more planet positive. So we joined with Carma Earth, our impact partner who are B Corp Certified, to create a solution.

Amanda-Louise from her own private monies subscribes each month to pay for a tree to be planted here in the UK. These UK trees are planted via The Green Task Force, who provide a pathway to employment for Veterans and service leavers using nature based therapy.  Our funeral families can offset their funeral too by donating to plant more trees in memory of their loved one, and we help them do this.

This policy will be reviewed annually.
