Donate to Minehead Food Bank Launch on Valentines Day
We are committed to the living, the departed and for our future generations, and very proud of our strong connections with the community in West Somerset. So we are excited to launch our new partnership with the West Somerset Food Bank and the local community.
We know more than ever people are needing to use their local food banks, so on deciding which worthy cause to support, The West Somerset Food Cupboard came up tops to ensure food and essential items can get to those who need them most.
"Its been a passion of mine to get involved in our neighbourly community here in Minehead; not only because our funeral home is here in the town but also my children went to school here, so have a strong connection with this area. So I reached out and delighted to hear back from Ali Sanderson Manager of the Charity West Somerset Food Cupboard who is going to send me monthly updates of items they are in desperate need for. Whilst we were eager to collect donations for this cause, we wanted to give back too, so our invitation to everyone to come in and have a cuppa and cake on us and we are hopeful everyone will bring along something to donate to the food bank.
So with Valentine's Day coming up, it was the ideal time to launch this project - after all, its all about sharing the love! So our doors open from 10am to 1pm on 14th February 2024 and then it will run every first Friday of the month. We hope the news will spread and encourage many locals to pop in and leave items that we will then take to the food cupboard." - Amanda-Louise
