A Finalist for Two Prestigious Awards & Quality Assured by SAIF
In September 2024, Amanda-Louise herself was recognised for the incredible impacts she has made in both the funeral world and her community within the UK’s prestigious Good Funeral Awards celebrating all professionals in the funeral industry, where she celebrated achieving runner place in a coveted category The Yearly Achievement Award.
On 4thNovember 2024 at the iconic Powerham Castle, Devon, Amanda-Louise who had been nominated for the West Country Womens Awards in The Green Business of the Year Award Category was thrilled to learn she was now a finalist and entered into the last phase of the awards to be held at the end of the month. This award recognises a woman-led business that achieves success while prioritizing sustainable practices and environmental solutions. It celebrates businesses that provide positive environmental impact.
“We are constantly on a mission to reduce our carbon footprint and be a more sustainable business. We are aware that the funeral industry has a significant negative impact on our environment, so if there is a way we can give back to the planet, we will. So with vision, Ive made some positive changes from offering green funerals as an option, and only use local crematoriums for our direct funerals (rather than using the 24/7 cremation centres the other side of the country).
We’ve partnered with some talented coffin providers in the UK, keeping the journey to a minimum, and supporting the economy in this country. Our scheme that recycles implants helps others. Our wildlife and nature recovery, has two elements 1) aiming towards off-setting the carbon footprint of each funeral by planting trees in the UK improving mental health of veterans and helping them into employment with our partnership with Carma Earth and 2) our complimentary wildflower bee friendly seed packets we give out at all our funerals, not only celebrates the memory of a loved one, but improves the wildlife.
Of course being a fully sustainable business will take its time, we are regularly looking at more ways to improve which will help us evolve, how as a society, the funeral industry can give back to the planet we leave behind.” – Amanda-Louise
Amanda-Louise Funeral Services has been welcomed on board in September to the The National Society of Allied and Independent Funeral Directors (SAIF) who are a trade association of independent funeral directors, known for their high standard of service and a caring, traditional approach to their local communities, after having undergone a thorough inspection of their funeral home and quality compliance.
“Im thrilled to be part of the SAIF Association, its proven that we ensure all our clients are treated with care, respect and are safe, at all times.” – Amanda-Louise
