Here at Amanda-Louise Funeral Services, we serve all faiths and cultures and offer all types of funerals.

Our beautiful chapel service hall space within Amanda-Louise Funeral Home offers a peaceful, personal and unique setting for bespoke funeral and memorial services in Minehead. In short, it’s often chosen because it’s simple, flexible, private, practical and a gorgeous space!

Our Chapel & Facilities - The space has a warm, light atmosphere, and we set The Chapel area in a beautiful way so everyone feels at ease and wont feel they are in a clinical or old fashioned setting.

Our Facilities offer a TV to show a slideshow of your favourite photos, music to listen to, a lectern for your officiant's use. The coffin can be present, and will be situated under our tree. The area has chapel style mirrors on either side of the walls, and is set in a modern light designed space. We have a variety of different religious items that can be displayed acknowledging someone's beliefs if required.

Options - You can even have the service webcast and watch back service if you wish, along with opportunity to stay and have buffet menus and even bar drinks. As you would expect, bathroom facilities are available, cloakroom space for winter coats, plus our dedicated team to look after your needs.

Before we start the service, our team will welcome you to our comfortable lounge, where tea coffee and water will be offered before the service in The Chapel.

Parking - immediately outside parking is limited to one hour but there is plenty of unrestricted free parking very close in Martlet Road or further down Blenheim Road, or paid car parking provision in the Co-op car park, or in Blenheim Gardens paid car park (both close to us).

Accessibility - we have a ramp into our funeral lounge (as one step). From the lounge to The Chapel is on one level, however space is tight reaching our bathroom and kitchen facilities.

Catering - we can even offer to provide buffet menus (hot and cold), tea and coffee, soft and/or bar drinks, so you can have a "wake" here after the service.

Time and Flexibility - We provide up to 4 hours exclusive use, with additional time added if needed. Available Monday to Friday day or evening, and Saturdays too.  Suitable for up to 45 people (we are currently having our space refurbished to extend the capacity of attendees). There’s no rush – you have the freedom to create the farewell you want without the time constraints of crematoriums or busy churches. Plus having everything in one place, from the service to refreshments, makes the day easier for you and your guests.

What We Handle For You - On the day of the service, we take care of everything so you can focus on being with family and friends:

• Service sheets, tissues, love sweets and our packet of seeds in memory of your loved one are placed on our comfortable seats before guests arrive
• Vases of flowers positioned on the floor around the chairs to give a calming atmosphere
• We'll position your fresh flower arrangements so you can enjoy the sentiment they bring
• Coffin positioned before the service begins (or we can present the coffin into this area to a piece of music) or if this is a memorial service with the ashes present, we'll ensure a table is presented where we can also place your photo frame
• Option to have a "memory table" set up which can include a book of remembrance so your guests can capture their heartfelt memories or messages to you
• Assist your chosen family lead or officiant with any of their ceremony needs (or we can recommend external celebrants or ministers, or provide our inhouse celebrant services)
• Staff member ready to greet you, and explain where our bathroom facilities are, and what to do if fire alarm goes off (its not happened yet!)
• Member of our team managing music and visual elements
• Throughout, our team will look after everyone's wellbeing, and will clear away at the end of your gathering

Creating Your Service - Our chapel is suitable for services of any faith or non-religious celebrations of life. You have complete freedom to create a service that truly reflects your loved one – whether traditional, contemporary, or something entirely unique. If you prefer not to have a family-led ceremony, we work with celebrants and religious ministers of all faiths, or you can arrange your own. Many families choose to include readings, poems, or music that held special meaning to their loved one. We have even had a live link to a family member in Australia who shared their personal tribute. This truly is a space where you set the tone and style of the farewell service, a space where you can reminisce over memories with laughter, safe space to share tears, unlimited pieces of music where you wont have to worry will offend anyone and the next moment sombre committal words thanking them of their time in our world and religious prayers if that's important to you. A space where you can all gather around the coffin, place flowers on, say quiet words to, or even write messages on the coffin if that feels right to you.

Environmental Considerations - Our chapel’s location in Minehead town centre means many local residents can walk to services, reducing the need for vehicles and having to travel a distance to Taunton, Sedgemoor or Exeter Crematorium. Holding both the service and refreshments in the same building minimises travel for your guests. For families choosing direct cremation (even through another funeral director or online provider), a memorial service at our chapel enables you to still have a meaningful farewell; however that looks and feels like.
